What the Salt Remembers

Fantasy · English · Being written now

In the salt-pan town of Tuzlag, where two kingdoms argue over a river that no longer runs, Sefa Tamarak forges papers that only their intended reader can see. Every forgery takes a memory from her and leaves a white crust on her skin. She has perhaps forty left. Then a dead man's blank writ arrives with her own handwriting on it, and she learns someone has been selling what she has lost.
