Sci-fi · English · Being written now

Ottilie Bakare reconciles maintenance tickets for a floating university-city moored above the drowned streets of Tessaly Bay. She never forgets a word she has read, which is how she notices that someone in the flooded old tide-gate network is filing requests in perfect bureaucratic English, and signing them with her name in mind. Whatever is writing wants one thing: a lawful place to live. The only institution that can shield her is the one that wants it buried.
